"This Craftsman chain saw started easily and cut well, but the fuel to oil ratio was a little odd, so I had to get a separate container for it and mark it just for this chainsaw.
The oil ratio was 40 to 1 and most other things are 50 to 1, so you'll need to make note of that and not mix the container up with those for other things.
It also felt a little on the heavy side as opposed to some other chainsaws I have used recently. But it did work and easily cut through a large oak limb that needed to be removed. It feels heavy-duty though. I just wish is used the same fuel to oil ratio."
I purchased this saw at Lowe’s about four months ago. Almost immediately I noticed it was leaking bar oil and should have returned it right away (lesson learned). Then more oil and now oil does not lubricate the blade and it ceases up when it gets hot. I only used this saw for about 5 hours in the time I had it. I returned it to Lowe’s today and they told me I had exceeded the 30 day Lowe’s warranty. Craftsman has a 1 year warranty, but it would cost me $100 to send it out for diagnostics and then they would contact me if the cost of repair was going to exceed the $100…Thank goodness they were not going to charge me more than the cost of the saw without consulting me first!
Come on Lowe’s…you’re a big store…why don’t you start acting it and respect your customers?
