An excellent home owners chainsaw. Mine replaced a small two stroke saw of a brand sold at almost all the big box home improvement stores. I used the gas saw once or twice a year. After sitting for a while it usually requires a bit of fiddling about to get it to run As a home owner, it's rare that I run the saw for an extended period of time.
More typically you make a couple of cuts, shut t he saw off, move what you've cut, start the saw again and make a few more cuts and this cycle repeats 'til the job is done. After a while the gas saw get crabby about the restarts. With the gas saw you also always have to mess around the premix which I always seem to be out of when I need it most.
The Greenworks 20312 cordless saw requires no fuel and no maintenance. Make sure the battery is charged, there a bar oil in the reservoir, and that the chain is tensioned (two seconds. . .no tools required) and you're ready to go. Pull the trigger and it cuts, release the trigger it stops. No starting or stopping all the time.
On a single charge I was able to break down a small (12" at the base of the trunk) oak tree that blew down over the winter with no difficulty. It doesn't have the max torque of a gas saw so you can stall the chain if you press hard on your work piece but that should help remind you to let the tool do the work and not force it.
The Greenworks 20312 won't replace a 26" bar Husky, but for a homeowner who needs a chainsaw for occasional work, this thing is pretty cool.
